Darkness In Elie Wiesel's Night

A title is one of the most important parts of a book. It can set the tone for the entire story and is usually one of the first things you see. Elie Wiesel decided to title his novel Night because it signifies a darkness that he faces throughout his time in the Nazi concentration camps. This word is illustrated frequently throughout the story. In my opinion, the author uses the word to symbolize the darkness that he encounters when he loses his faith in God. God was always a huge part in his life until he sees that this almighty can sit back and watch as the Jewish are being murdered.
