Another feature of dark romanticism is that temporal and spatial dimensions are remote. In dark romanticism the literary texts do not include a specific setting and timing. This type of feature leave sort of impact on the reader. The writers of dark romanticism used this type of features. They did it in order to make the reader of the work focused on the experience he or she feel during reading. Poe is an ideal representative of dark romanticism and wrote a lot of literary texts with his distinctive style. He wrote number of stories which had a sense of darkness an ambiguity. The vagueness and mystery was always presented in his work and "Ligeia" was one of them. "Ligeia" was written in 1838. It tells the story of bereaved husband who lost his beloved wife and married another woman and witness a horrific scene of the revival of his late wife Ligeia. This paper analyzed Poe's "Ligeia" through specific aspects in the story. The first aspect is the improbable plot which analyzed "Ligeia" plot and events in the work. This aspect focused on the unusual events and actions that contradict logic. The second aspect is subjectivity. Since the work was presented by the narrator subjectivity, thus the critics who analyzed "Ligeia" have divided into two groups. One adapted a psychological explanation of narration and the other was supernatural. The third aspect is unlikely characterization, which analyzed the characters and their features as not representative of humankind.
