1. The purpose of this media text is to inform the audience if the movie: Dark Knight is worth while watching. Ebert and Roeper give their opinions about the movie, which are always supported by analyzations regarding the plot, characters and the work of the director. For instance, they stated gave a brief summary of the plot and said that the movie had constant action. They also said that Christian Bale is the most intimidating Batman yet and Maggi Gyllenhaal is an upgrade from Katie Holmes playing Rachel Daws. They also said that director Nolan made a masterpiece and maybe one of the best superhero movies ever made. They also tend to state their thoughts about movie nominations. A) The target audience of this film is males age 12 and up. Males would be the targeted audience since the movie is packed with action which men seem to have a greater appreciation for compared to women. The film is also based on superheroes and super villains, which were both topics that were engrained in boy’s minds from a small age, so they would have a greater interest in this topic. Lastly, The Dark Knight features an abundant amount of gadgets, cars and weapons of mass destructions which are all things that seem to interest guys, more than girls. Taking all these factors into consideration, the producers targeted males, since they think that they are most suitable for this …show more content…
I think Ebert’s and Roeper’s opinion were expressed in a very effective manner. Their opinions were expressed effectively since they backed up making them more logical and believable. For instance, they stated that you should watch Dark Knight not only once but twice, it was so good. They backed that statement up by stating that the film was full of action. They supported that by stating that the film was so exciting that the film seemed like the fastest 2.5 hours ever. The characters were an upgrade compared to the previous ones, such as Christian Bale being the most intimidating Batman yet, and Maggi Gyllenhaal is an upgrade from Katie Holmes. The movie should receive multiple awards such as best picture and best supporting actor, and finally, the director made excellent decisions, like not over exploiting the terrific villain.
