Today’s Genocide But For How Long?
Imagine your life being changed forever. Six million people lives have been changed over the past decade and a half in Sudan. The Darfur genocide is murdering of men,women, and children. There is war and a genocide going on in the 21st century and not enough people know about who's doing, it what's being done to those people, and how long it's been going on.
In spite of,years of war going on in Sudan, conflicts are only getting worse. In 1973 and again in 1983 there has been a civil war going on in Sudan(“Darfur genocide << world without genocide-working to create a world without genocide”). The CPA,Comprehensive Peace Agreement, ended civil war violence in Sudan, but conflict soon began to arise in Darfur(“Darfur genocide-Jewish World Watch”). Janjaweed or evil men on horseback is an arab militia group that has been sent out by government leaders(“Darfur Genocide-Jewish World Watch”). The president ,Al-Bashir, was given arrest warrants that were place by the International Courts(“Darfur Genocide- Jewish World Watch”). Jewish World Watch stated, “In September 2004 George Bush and U.S. secretary of state Colin Powell declared what was happening in Darfur a genocide.”
Nevertheless, what is being down to the citizens of Darfur is truly terrifying. Even though not enough is being done there are thirteen refugee camps in eastern Sudan(“Darfur Genocide-Jewish World Watch”).Enslaving, looting, rapeing and burning down of homes, towns, and communities those are only a few things being done to people. Janjaweed have also been know to go over the border and harrass near by communities in Chad(“Darfur Genocide<< world Without Genocide-working to create a world without genocide”).Tension is growing all around Sudan and now in neighboring
