Dareon: A Fictional Narrative

Improved Essays
I jolt awake in my bed gasping for air trying to figure out what the heck is going on. How can Reid be in Dareon? Why was he at the party, more importantly, why didn’t he speak up before now. This can not be happening, nope not to me. If Reid lives in Dareon too then what’s to say that it isn’t real? How am I going to stop reality from slipping away if all signs point to one thing? How would I be able to cope with that? How would I stay sane? Every day that goes by tells me that Dareon is real. The cut on my leg from the hike, sleeping for three days, seeing Reid! Did he see me before I woke up? That’s another thing, do you just freeze mid air when you wake up? Am I just standing there at the ball looking like an idiot, or do I vanish into mid air if I am not sleeping on a couch or in a bed. …show more content…
I can’t let on to Reid that I know, but what am I supposed to do? He will know something is wrong if I ignore him, but he deserves it. How cruel was he to make me think that I was crazy? That all this time about me going on and on about Dareon, that he would just dismiss me and call me insane. I can not fathom an excuse for what he did, why he lied, and why he stayed silent. It would have been amazing if he would have just said, “Yes! I believe you one hundred percent because that crazy empowering world and that feeling you get when you are there, I have that feeling every day. I know what you are going through because I am going through the same thing.” But he didn’t, he didn’t speak up about Dareon and he didn’t tell me that he is there fifty percent of the time. It wouldn’t be fair to me or to him to just go along like I don’t know, but I don’t care to see his face right now. It would be too painful. Is that why he just wanted to be friends? Because sooner or later he knew I would find out and hate him for it

The Vietnam War was a war that was catastrophic. By catastrophic it means 58,000 Americans were killed and 304,000 were wounded out of the 2.7 million that served in the war. When draft letters were sent out some people responded were fresh out of high school, which means that they really didn’t want to go to war, but were forced to unless they were willing to flee to another country or serve prison time. In the texts “On the Rainy River” and “The Greatest: My Own Story” by Tim O’Brien and Muhammad Ali, it shows their perspectives on the Vietnam war which were responses to the draft letters they received in the mail. In “On the Rainy River” Tim O’Brien talks about the thoughts that were going through his mind when he received the draft letter.…

Clearing the entrance was fairly easy, we soon got it cleared and entered the church, I found brother martin inside, and while he was very sceptical of my claims, he agreed to come to Weynon priory and speak to Jauffre. Savlian asked for help to take the next stage of the town, but I said I must get martin to Weynon priory first, then I would come and help further, he agreed to give the men a rest and wait. The civilians in the church were very grateful for my assistance as they started to evacuate the city, when I explained to Savlian why I needed to get martin there he agreed and provided a carriage. On arrival the first thing I saw was more assassins like those who had attacked us in the sewers, the mythic dawn, a bad sign to be sure. We managed to kill the leader and save Jauffre, he’s quite good in a fight, and it appears they have come to the priory for the amulet of kings.…

Personal Narrative rough draft : Car accident It was early in April of 2016, sunny and beautiful, the day was sure to be full of excitement and energy as student council speeches are due and the final trimester of the year was slowly coming to an end. I woke up that morning to my mother blissfully waking me up with my light turning on and her sweet beautiful voice saying “Wake up, Joey,” I slowly rolled out of bed and stumbled into the shower trying hopelessly to escape the morning and the horrible sensations of waking up early on a Wednesday. As the warm water rushed over me I rehearsed in my head how I would present my student council speech to my teacher. Little did I know how different it would actually be that day.…

Hello Asia, Thank you for responding to my post! I was not previously aware of his mother’s actions during his childhood, we probably watched two different videos. Finding that out has led me to believe that his mother sort of had issues too, it makes me wonder if something was wrong genetically. I think it is scary to live in a place while knowing of the horrible things that took place nearby. Reminds me of a few years ago when phoenix had a serial rapist on the loose.…

The smell of coffee greeted me like an old friend as I walked through the door of the coffee shop. I looked forward to this moment all morning, which was as rushed and hectic as ever. I looked around for familiar faces, but none jumped out as I headed to the counter. There was a line as always in this place. I moved forward at a snail’s pace, and other caffeine-deprived drones joined the line behind me.…

A Reflection: The Danger of a Single Story As most people, my story consists of an abundance of struggle, trial and error, and also lessons. These challenges, in addition to the lessons, have brought upon stress, anxiety, and even depression into my life. They have made me question myself to the point of insanity, avoid meeting and accepting new people into my life, and even fail to uphold the bonds I had previously made with both relatives and peers. However, I cannot be defined and bound to the “single story” of my anxiety. There are many more complex stories that represent me even more adequately than the ones that correspond to the struggles I’ve faced; as there are many more stories significant to other various people, places and things…

The minutes turned to hours as Jimin twisted his mind to reveal even the smallest details and ideas about what he could use Yoongi for. First off was his initial plan, revolving around manipulation, just as his lifestyle did as well. He could also play the game of innocence, pretending to essentially become the personal therapist of Yoongi and let him vent out all of his life's secrets after gaining the man's trust. For now though, he'd stick to winging whatever plan could develop after the odd turn of events. Sleep was minimal on the first night.…

Narrative self: Paul Ricoeur When the self is constructed through narrative or story then the focus of human existence is laid upon their phenomenal experiences. It brings about a sense of dramatisation and operation of “emplotment” which configures the diverse events and actions of human lives and turn it into a meaningful whole. The concept of self and identity is fashioned by adaptation of plots from cultural stock of stories and myths. In psychological, psychoanalytical and humanistic theories self is fundamental concept. In the traditional way self has been identified as ultimate substance, not subject to impermanence.…
