Have you ever done or spoken something and later regretted it? Desperately wanting to take it back you wish you could just erase it from the past? I know I have, and when I reflect on those situations I ask myself, “What would have happened if I had thought about it first”? If you neglect to think before acting it can potentially cause harm to you, or someone else. After several circumstances, I have learned that before acting, you should always consider the consequences of what you’re about to do. The result can either be incredibly helpful, or especially hurtful.

Whether it’s a foolish dare from a fellow school student, or a dispute occurring in a debate class, you should always recognize the situation you are in, and go from there. In a dare, you should observe the potential dangers of that dare. Think about what’s best for your safety before making a decision. If not, you could critically hurt yourself. Many generals in past battles lost wars due to poor planning, or none at all! The ones who rose victorious did so because of a strict and exceptional strategy. When it’s your turn to make a point in a debate, you should definitely think before speaking. Depending on what you say, you could offend someone you weren’t meaning to insult. You could also lose your temper during a debate, and spit out malicious words which could offend many others, and give people a bad impression of your character. Many debaters and politicians go through this several times, sometimes even their own friends turn on them. In cases like these, you should especially pay attention to your words and thoughts, making the wrong move there could put you or your aspect of the public in
