DARE has two meanings, did you know that? Well, the most known meaning is Drug Abuse Resistance Enforcement, but there’s another like I said. That one means Define Assess Respond Evaluate. The second meaning is better associated with the DDMM, for it is the steps you take when making a decision. You can’t have a problem without knowing what it is, right? So first off you have to define the problem whether if it’s a broken leg, tryouts or other things like that. What exactly is define? Define is describing the problem, challenge, or opportunity. Defining a problem doesn’t mean it has to be a life or death kind of problem. It could be a minor problem like, what should I wear to school today. Well, you can wear jeans and a T-shirt, or a shirt and a skirt, etc. You just assessed your problem. Assessing means going through your choices like I just did. While assessing you have to write or think about every possible choice. After assessing you have to make a choice, respond, you can't go choiceless. Would you go with jeans or a skirt? Jeans was a good idea because it allowed you to move freely from and to classes. See! I just did it again. I evaluated my choice. Your decision isn’t always going to be a good one.
