Daniel's Prayer Analysis

DANIEL’S VISION We can see in the Bible about the stages of God descending to human level. Daniel was privileged to see this in a three-stage vision. Let us turn to Daniel 10: 5-9. In these verses, Daniel first sees a Glorious Vision of a Man. This was a vision of the Son of God (Theophany) with the Glory of God. In this context, you may recall the prayer of Jesus in John 17:5, “O Father, Glorify thou me with thine own self which I had with thee before the world was”. When Daniel saw this vision there was no strength in him, he was in a deep sleep and his face to the ground. Our physical bodies cannot stand this glory. The Bible says no man can see God and live (Exodus 33: 20). It means that this flesh cannot stand the Glory of God. Therefore we see Daniel falling into a deep sleep when he saw the Glory of God. Ezekiel too saw a similar vision twice (Ezekiel1: 26-28, 3:23). Both the times he fell on his face when he saw it. In the New Testament, the three disciples Peter, James and John saw the same kind of Glory on the Mount of Transfiguration and they were sore afraid and fell on their faces (Matthew 17: 1-2, Mark 9: 1-3, II Peter 1: 17). John the Apostle also saw a similar vision of His Glory (Rev. 1: 13-18) and fell down as though dead when he could not stand the Glory of God. …show more content…
