She graduated with a Bachelor of Science, was a teacher, and then moved on to the “corporate world”. Carolee became a chapter advisor and was given the title of National Academics Chairman. Throughout Carolee’s life, she has been given the opportunity to be a leader, and her most important piece of advice is to empower the people you work with. Carolee first started to be a leader in high school. She was organized and seemed to gravitate towards positions where she was in…

To Whom It May Concern I am honored to write this letter to express my support for Susanna Bell in her application for the Go Texan Scholarship. I had the pleasure of teaching Susanna during her senior year in my Culinary Arts class. From the first day of class, Susanna impressed me with her self discipline, love for learning and love for helping others.…
To begin Sabrina provided me with background information on what led her to being an admission counselor. Similar to myself, she never really thought about a career in higher education. Sabrina explained to me that as a Student at Buena Vista University she was always focused on health sciences. In 2000 Sabrina graduated from Buena Vista University with a BA in exercise…
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Jill Wilhelm. A kind-hearted and intelligent student, Jill is making the most of her high school career. I have been impressed with her dedication to academics and community. There is definitely more than meets the eye with Jill.…
We support students to and through college by bringing them together in a learning community we call the Philly College Team (PCT) at the Community College of Philadelphia. Today, we'd like to introduce you to our amazing team members, starting with Myia -- in her own words. Myia is an aspiring veterinarian who writes that it is "easy to feel overwhelmed" at a large school like CCP. But being part of PCT "gives me confidence to know that what I am doing is the right path to my future and I just need to keep pushing."…
In the classroom, Andrew has dedicated himself to a rigorous course of studies. His teachers have characterized him as a hard worker, one who is not afraid to voice his opinion, while respecting the views of his peers. On the athletic field Andrew has demonstrated that he is a leader who motivates his fellow…
To Whom it Concerns From Karen Bloom, Teacher at Denmark High School Re: Lyndsey Bielinski Thank you for the honor and opportunity it is for me to share with you about how impressed I am with Lyndsey Bielinski as a student, community citizen, and individual of high caliber; as I am sure you will soon be as well.. My personal knowledge and contact with Lyndsey stems mostly through our work together with the Denmark High School StingCancer©Chapter. StingCancer© helps take the “sting” out of cancer for local families by offering help and encouragement through gift cards, blankets, logistical support, and personal contacts. Lyndsey has been a valuable, active, and irreplaceable member of StingCancer© for the past two years. She is…
With these lessons in their minds many of her players move onto the college level and remain successful there, and in life itself. The reason why she is such a great coach is because of her will to win, her non-stop effort to make her players better and because of all the time she puts in. Just like all of the time Estelle Tatterson, a famous Biddeford journalist put into all of her articles, all of the time every Biddeford mayor has put into making their city better, or all the time Cora B. Bickford put into making and organizing a Biddeford Women's Club. All of these women did what it took to excel…
It is my pleasure to write her a reference for your consideration of her application to be a summer counselor with Bahamas Methodist Habitat. Having known Tori since she was in ninth grade, I have had the privilege of seeing her grow and mature. She was in my English classes twice, once in ninth grade and once in twelfth grade. Tori was always prepared for…
For my faculty interview, my original professor canceled on me, so I had the privilege of interviewing Ms. Tina Nabors. I thought I knew a lot about Ms. Tina, but I found out I really did not. I learned that she was appointed to the LCF leader position because her previous boss believed that she would be a good fit for LCF program when it was first created. She has always enjoyed working with students so it came natural to her.…
Beginning with the premise that clients have “strength and capability, not weakness, helplessness, or dependence [and] a deep desire to give the best and achieve potential,” (Kimsey-House, Kimsey-House, Sandahl, & Whitworth, 2011, p. 7), coaching is analogous to the Paraclete who walks alongside another, inspiring, motivating (John 14:26, ESV), bringing out the intelligence (Proverbs 2:6-7, NIV) and capacity of the client to solve their own problems (ICF, n.d.). The CCNI (2014) takes the definition one step further and incorporates a perspective based upon a biblical worldview, which offers moral direction and guidance. The co-active coaching model, which is conversation based upon respect, openness, compassion, empathy, and a rigorous commitment…
Coaches have the power to change lives. I can humbly say this as all my coaches, both good and bad, have taught me in some way what it takes to be a good athlete and most importantly how to be a good human being. They have taught me life lessons that I can only hope to preserve by instilling them into my athletes in my time as a coach. The articles I have chosen to highlight in this essay show how coaches have helped to develop character in athletes, how they pushed them to be the best on and off the field of play, and illustrate how they stepped into the lives of athletes and became so much more than just a coach.…
My leadership philosophy is one that is rooted in the strong belief that it must be a continuous quest to motivate all students to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners, while possessing outstanding character. This includes assisting students with discovering their talents and interests, therefore developing a love of learning, while developing into ethical, productive citizens. Accomplishing this requires a leader who is knowledgeable in pedagogy and curriculum, including the use of data and current assessments to enhance instruction, and who possesses outstanding communication skills, the ability to manage an operation’s resources effectively, promotes collaboration and teamwork, and is passionate and committed to helping students learn. I believe that my interpersonal skills will be my biggest strength as an educational leader. Through frequent, honest communication, and my enthusiasm for the subject, I will demonstrate understanding and compassion for those around me, therefore building trusting relationships.…
