If someone asked you to have surgery that would triple your I.Q. in just a matter of weeks, would you take it? Should Charlie Gordon have had the surgery? In the science fiction story “Flowers for Algernon” By Daniel Keyes, A man named Charlie Gordon wants to be smart and feel normal like everyone else, he takes an opportunity to have A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) surgery which would triple his I.Q. of 68. It was a good idea that Charlie had the surgery because he got to finally experience emotions he’s never had before, he also got to feel normal/accepted, lastly he figured out if the experiment was a success or a bust.
