Daniel Camargo Barbosa was a Colombian serial killer born in January 22, 1936. He was suspected to be responsible for raping and killing over 150 people, but only confessed to 72 people.

In his early life, his father was overbearing and emotionally distant. His mother died when he was young and he was raised by an abusive stepmother. His step mother would often dress him in girls clothing, which had him bullied at school a lot. However, Daniel was never diagnosed with any mental disorder, but was suspected of having Antisocial personality disorder. At the age of 18 he was first arrested for petty theft.

Daniel Camargo first wed a girl named Alcira and had two children with her. However, Daniel fell in love with a girl named Esperanza, but found out she was not a virgin. For him, this was a huge dent in their relationship. To keep a relationship, Esperanza agreed to lure other virgins for him to have sex with. Esperanza would lure girls to their apartment and drug them with sleeping pills. From there, Daniel would rape them. He did this to his first 5 victims before being arrested, though he did not kill his victims. In fact, his 5th victim was able to report the incident which led to his arrest. Roughly 9 years later, he was arrested for being undocumented and was deported. However, he was released with a false identity. He returned to Colombia and became a street vendor, selling tv monitors. His first murder occurred when he was passing an elementary school. He kidnapped a 9 year old girl, raped and killed her so she wouldn't be able to tell the police. He was arrested in 1974 for the rape and murder of that 9 year old girl. However, it was suspected at the time to be responsible for the deaths of 80 other girls. He was sent to a Colombian
