Battle is close with his mother because he lived with her as a child, but his relationship with his father is different. Battle explained “This is my first year living with my dad without my mom, he’s really strict, and i’m not sure how strong our relationship is because of how iffy he makes me feel.” Battle believes that his father will become less oppressive with the more time they stay together. Battle has just recently moved here but has already developed genuine relationships with his new friends. The most predominant memory he has with his new friends happened when he was supposed to be home with his father. Battle confessed “I wasn't supposed to be out that late with my friends, but while he were walking through the woods at night we heard this awful noise, and it scared us enough that we ran back and out of the woods!” Battles friendships have developed since he has arrived here and while he is not allowed outside after dark Battle was willing to take the punishment if he could spend time with his friends. Battle claims that the most challenging aspect to his adolescence is moving which forces him to lose friends. There are some up turns to moving, Battle enjoys making new friends, meeting new people, and seeing new landscapes. Battle has discovered he likes savoring ketchup on eggs, even though as a child he would have never mixed food. Daniel Battle is still
