When you google “extremism” the first thing that pops up is “the holding of extreme political or religious views; fanaticism the dangers of religious extremism." The Merriam Webster 's definition says “Advocacy of extreme measures or views.” and I agree. I think extremism is when someone or a group of people take extreme actions , or risk their own life to make a change in the world to show their ideals in a positive or negative way. The google definition says extremism is dangerous because of the religious views, because that 's the first thing we think of due to the extreme terrorist group but what we don 't think of is the positive sides of extremism. At age 34 Martin Luther King delivered one of the most famous speech all around the world; then at 35 he won a nobel prize for peace "for the furtherance of brotherhood among men and to the abolishment or reduction of standing armies and for the extension of these purposes." stated the Nobel Institute. And instead of keeping the 54,000 dollars he received with the award, he put it right back into the civil rights movement(“Martin Luther King WIns the Nobel Prize for Peace”). Sadly, at age 39 he is assassinated in Tennessee by James Earl Ray, who then was sentenced to 99 years in jail. However, after he died his spirit and hope for civil rights, stayed alive through the eyes of many African American people. King used nonviolent acts to fight segregation; he held many boycotts, protest marches and sit-ins (“Martin Luther King Jr:..”). But his thoughts of wanting civil rights put him in great danger and he knew that but he didn 't care. He wasn 't worried about getting murder, he was worried about his family other african american families, whose children couldn 't get the amazing education that the caucasian people got. What many people didn 't know but the king family did know, what that the FBI and government were after him. They both fought for civil rights, however they used different tactics. Martin Luther King protested with non-violence to put out a good name for the organization. The black panthers used violence as a key to their protest however, had the same dream and dr.king. Martin Luther King did not agree with what the black panther party was doing because the made a bad name for the organization. The fought with firearms and violence and thought that king 's idea wouldn 't work to fight for civil rights. The tactics they used makes the protest into such a controversial extremist group; they were fighting for social justice for civil right but did they go too far any make it into a negative cause? watch the video on
