The Importance Of Banning Cell Phones In School

Alexander Graham Bell was the inventor of the telephone in 1874. From this generation on, the evolution of the phone has impacted our society immensely. Phones have gone from a simpler way to communicate without travel or write a letter, to everyone having them as a daily item in their pocket you can't forget. If something were to happen to your present day phone, it's easy to freak out, especially if you forget it at home, or drop it to the ground (or break it with a discus). However dependent we've become on them, they're not the most important thing in the world. Cell phones have come to a point where we can't go without them at school. There's the problem! Phones are keeping us away from what reality truly is. This leads to the reason for banning cell phones during school hours. For one reason:

Students are taught to learn responsibility when having their phone around. You're allowed to stay in touch with your parents if you are in need of something. That leads to "in case of an emergency" situations where you need to get a hold of your parents or guardian. Another reason is that students are happier when they have their cell phone. Studies show that if students are happy, their grades make them successful. Students tend to panic when they don't have their cell phone. While these reasons can be relatable, cell phones aren't as spectacular as you think they are. 75% of teens use their phone for these main reasons: taking pictures, listening to music, and playing games. According to parents, 48% use the phone to monitor their child's location. 64% look through their child's phone. Depending on the situation, 62% parents take their child's phone away as a punishment. 54% of parents limit their times per day to use the phone. Plus, 46% parents limit the number of minutes their child can use to talk on the
