The movements come out from within ourselves when the music starts playing as it changes our emotions. Although this may be true that dancing does require music, the same cannot be said for music. Music does not depend on dancing, as it is by itself. When learning music, you do not need to learn other academic disciplines except music’s own academic disciplines. I always listen to music while working on assignments which means I am listening to music right now while writing this essay. I have often been told by my mother not to do so as they think it takes away my concentration from the assignments and makes me distracted. However, it is opposite for me. Through music, we feel different emotions and after listening to a certain music, our moods often change to either sad or happy. Moreover, moderate music level helps with creativity, increasing our ability to process and understand the things we are finding difficult and encourages abstract processing. These helps us to bring different areas of knowledge closer and combine them to make things better. However, a single approach only makes us focus on things strictly within its limitations and restrictions, resulting in narrow visions and thoughts. Constructivism is a learning theory where people understand the world around them through their own experiences and reflections from them. When people learn something new, they try to relate to their own ideas and understanding from experience to go into deeper analysis and while doing so, we use the interdisciplinary approach. In addition, implementing interdisciplinary approaches helps us to become more critical thinkers which is one of the most important traits developed in IB students. Critical thinking helps to accept and view things from different perspectives, compare facts, theories, and concepts from different disciplines. Confusion arises when interdisciplinary approaches are not analyzed and understood
