Dance Tramp Dance Analysis

Dance Tramp was a dance performance like I’ve never seen before. There were times throughout the performance where I had no idea what was going on or why. I wouldn’t even be surprised to find out that the performers didn’t either. The show was essentially a compilation of silliness and humor that I’m glad to have witnessed. The most ridiculous of all was the part at the very beginning, where two dancers were wearing a conjoined black costume and spun around the stage holding a bouquet of flowers before the lights came on. There was no reason I could deduce other than to get the audiences attention and generate a baffled feeling within them. This baffled feeling continued when minutes of the show were devoted to just two people drinking out of mugs and never went away until the end of the show. …show more content…
It fit in with the rest of Dance Tramp’s silliness, but it also displayed impressive technical dance ability along with grace. Byrne performed leaps and turns and various other skills that require flexibility beyond natural for the human body. Another attribute that I loved about Dance Tramp was that the dancers weren’t prim and proper like I’m used to. My experience with dance involved fake eyelashes, perfect makeup, every piece of hair sprayed into place, and costumes that no real person wears in day to day life. In Dance Tramp, I couldn’t even tell if some of the dancers were wearing makeup at all and half of the costumes included sweatpants. It made them all seem more human. Overall, the performance was a true work of art. It broadened my view of dance and opened my eyes to Burlington’s brilliant dance

All I can say is, the story had somewhat of a quicker pace and sometimes harder to follow and small details could easily be missed, and the lighting was a tiny bit distracting when it flashed across the stage quickly. The use of sound effects was used to signify different things that caught the attention of the viewers and really added a special touch to the play. The play showcased beautiful and stunning singing which made the play more authentic, combined with the elaborate dances numbers truly made the show breathtaking and…

All of the performers would be considered amateurs in the dance discipline, most having only a year of dance experience from their public high school. This dance was a sassy, slower performance; using the dancers long lines to appear as a sexier routine. To make the dance more appealing numerous lifts were added and the technique of fall and recover was a common technique. The dance as a whole was a good attempt of having inexperienced dancers performing rather simple…

Summer Twins Review: A Dreamy Dance Party Kicking off Valentine’s Day weekend with great music is not a bad way to dive into the holiday, for couples and singles alike. This last Friday, February 12, Summer Twins performed at Acerogami, Pomona, CA, joined by Veronica Bianqui. The entire event had a drinks-with-friends vibe, framed by the venue’s exposed brick, low lighting, projected music videos, and a few heart-shaped balloons at the stage. The beauty of smaller venues is the level of comfort they create. Conversation before and after the show flowed easily, from excitement about the performers to stray cats and operatic voicemails.…

The dancers demonstrated some positions that are not normally seen at the gym and it truly creative. For example, they demonstrated running by stumbling their feet as fast as they could. Additionally, the dance contained funny movements such as a dancer dragging another dancer across the stage. The most entertaining part of the performance was when two male dancers came out to the stage to lecture the female dancers on how their workout should have been done.…

The third piece involved different age groups being used interchangeably, illustrating effects of age on your performance. My personal favorite dance piece of the movie was Vollmond because the stage was flooded with water during the whole dance routine. I feel that it is very important to honor those who led a successful life during their time on Earth. Pina Bausch only inspired her dance company to always better themselves. She gave some the chance of a lifetime to be able to perform in front of mass audiences.…

The woman was showing off her hips and she was wearing shoulder shimmies, so the element of costuming has to be very important to the dance. The dance is a very sexual dance and seems to require a lot of rhythm. While they were dancing, I paid attention to their feet a lot of the time. First of all, the man is the leader and basically calls the shots on whether or not the lady should move back or forward first. The man and the…

From what I witnessed each dance included a physical technique. An example the first performance skit appeared to require a skill in balance, speed, agility, and physical effort. Another skit included running, jogging, jumping, and flexibility. These athletic aesthetics and basics were taught in our class as well and are very relatable. Units this could possibly relate to in our class were the running jogging unit, yoga, and circuit workout unit.…

The audience appeared to be caught up in the moment and loving the musical. The production/playwright wanted to bring the popular 1980’s Dirty Dancing movie to the big stage and they did an amazing job. The musical was definitely a huge hit and was worth every penny spent to produce it. I was amazed by this musical, not only because I love the movie but also because they brought the movie to life on stage. I would recommend everyone to see this musical.…

A universal definition for terrorism does not exist, instead perceptions of the meaning, which are subjective, culturally and politically situated, and fluid, (Oates, 2008, p.135) are constructed, primarily by Governments, and disseminated to society through its’ mass media. (Jackson, 2005, p. 16-18) Western discourse shifted after the events of 9/11 with this pervasive narrative shaping the contemporary understanding of terrorism, and the acceptance of counter-terrorism measures; that is what state practices can be deemed appropriate, necessary and supported by society. (Jackson, 2005, p. 8-9) Televising Terrorism, which examines how terrorism is portrayed within both news and fiction programming, categorises this as being the official perspective…

The performance meant a lot to me because it gave me a whole new perspective in the importance of dancing. The dance represented a familiar scenario which I recognized in professional theaters. This was worth my money and time because I was amused and thrilled with new content. The theme of the dance was easy to recognize because of the performers body language and visual appearance. It basically let me know whether it was dark or happy themed.…
