Ever since I was five, dance has been a huge part of my life and has taught me so many things that I will carry with me forever. Dance has taught me determination, confidence, dedication, and teamwork. It has given me many experiences that I will cherish for a lifetime. Determination and confidence. Over the past thirteen years I have learned to push myself to be the best that I can be. In life people always want to be at the top, and for some that comes easily; for others it takes hard work and determination. I have pushed myself to do things I never thought I could do because of my determination to be better every day. Dance has taught me to be comfortable with who I am and have confidence in myself and the talents that I have. Dance has undoubtedly given me the dedication and commitment that I have today. I have danced for the past thirteen years and would not trade that time for the world. From the long five hour rehearsals on Sundays to quick thirty minute practices to fix a lineup, dance takes commitment. It has taught …show more content…
Christmas 2015, I was able to go to San Diego, California to dance in the halftime show at the holiday bowl. It was a once in a lifetime trip where I experienced, for the first time, a huge trip across the country without my family. Summer 2014, our dance troop was invited to dance in Disney World. I loved being able to explore Disney with my dance troop and then get to perform in downtown Disney. Over the years our performing arts dance troop attends at least three regional competitions and one national completion every year, many times walking away with first place. We always make sure to perform at multiple nursing homes around town. It brings me so much joy to see the residents of the nursing homes smiling and clapping along with the music as we dance.
