On the way to a dance competition three years ago, with Appalachian Rhythm, we all headed down to Mooresville North Carolina. You could see it in all of our faces. We all encouraged each other and told each other that we all have our backs and no matter what happens out there, we will carry on. When we got on stage, I felt a sudden rush of fear, I have performed in front of many crowds before, but this was by far the biggest, and we all knew how good the competitors were at this point. It helped shape who I am today with school and work. No skipping because I am “too tired” or “too lazy.” Even when I feel that I am not up for the challenge, I am pushed beyond my limits. This teaches me that even if I fail at something, I push myself to try again and try harder to persevere. It’s not all fun and games, being a dancer is tough and stressful, you have your ups and downs. You learn that the people on your team are your family, not your competition on who's the better dancer. You grow up together and go through the toughest battles together, supporting each other all the way
