Since the age of three, dance has been a major part of my life. I have participated in many styles of dance throughout the last thirteen years like ballet, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop and lyrical. Being involved in dance has had three main effects on my life. The first effect of being involved in dance is I have become a more confident person. Dancing has helped me break through my fears and anxiety. The second effect of being involved in dance is I have created amazing long lasting friendships. Since I have enrolled in dance, I have met several other people who share the same passion for dance as me. The final effect of being involved in dance is I have become a physically fit person. Dancing keeps my body active and improves my stamina.
The first effect of being involved in dance is I have become a more confident person. Many people do not enroll in dance classes because they allow their fear and anxiety to get in the way. In my very first year of dance, I was really shy and did not always like to participate in the class because I was afraid that I could not do a perfect pirouette. When I am at dance class now, I am able to express myself in a way that I feel comfortable. At my dance studio, everyone is very accepting and the other dancers do not judge me when I am dancing.
