This dance event hosted by the department of theater and dance at Montclair State University was a spectacular event that you would not want to miss. This dance event ,that took place in Alexander Kasser Theater, had six dances and one dance film. My favorite thing about the dances were the effort that all the students put into it and all the light action. Also the costume were amazingly designed and flowed with the themes of every individual dance. The name of the event is Danceworks 2016. This took place on March thirty-first through April third. The day I attended the event was Sunday April third, and it was a great way to continue my day. It began with the premier of Static Friction which is a ballet performance of all girls. This dance consisted of a quartet which consists of two duets. This contemporary dance was created by Christian von Howard. What I loved the most about this piece was the scenery which was unique. They danced inside of a square created by light, and had an exit that caught the peoples attention. Even though the dancers did not come from there they did walk off stage using the curtains and parting ways. This dance incorporated romance, love, elegance, and feelings. Both of the duets had a man and a woman in them and they both danced and connected with each other in a elegant romantic way. This dance is so well performed that it made me feel like I needed to go share my love with someone else. The stage was very simple, but simple is always elegant. The lighting helped created a moody style for the dancers and helped the audience feel the same way. This dance only used a small amount of space on stage. The energy of the dancers can be seen thought their performance. The energy on stage felt so positive and great. I really fell in love with this performance from the time that it began till the time that it was over. I was so happy when I saw them perform his. I really don 't know how to express it in words the way I felt, but it just felt great watching these dancers create such beautiful …show more content…

The formation of dance has lived on this world for many generations as we continue to pass through history. When I went to the wonderful performance at Pierce College I experienced a whole new perspective on dancing. The concert had many types of students performing mixed dance projects of all types like solos and duets. There was an average size of one to eight dancers per project which made it the ideal size for the concert. I really enjoyed the creativity and effort put into this performance.…

The formations in this dance were extremely memorable, they all joined in a circle and moved across the stage as one. In this performance the lighting changed and moved with the dancers, it was not distracting or took away from them. I believe the dancers all worked together nicely in this dance and I could tell they all trained hard for this piece. After intermission there was a dance that was delightful. Gravity, was a duet with a beautiful couple that executed every move perfect.…

I wouldn’t really say that every dance made an outstanding impression on me from the beginning. Royals I enjoyed the costuming and use of props. Steam Heat I enjoyed how the choreography used the costumes (hats) as a part of the dance. I also enjoyed the music because it made me reflect back on my competition days. Fighter I enjoyed the power in the movement and how the lighting made the dance so much more impactful.…

I attended the ballet Today 's Masters on April 25 at the Orpheum Theatre. This was the first ballet that I had attended as well as my son’s first. I have always been fascinated by the ballet and the talent of the ballerinas. The dancers always show such finesse and tranquil composure during their performances that I wanted to experience that first hand in a live show. I choose to go watch Today’s Masters as it was said to cover a whole spectrum of ballet from classical to contemporary.…

All the dancers that participated in it all had their own personal stories that they could relate to which made the dance so special. Everyone was truly happy to be performing and telling the story. Another thing that really worked well with the dance was all the different parts throughout the dance along with the formations. Never did I once get bored and drift off into space while that dance was on stage. The choreography was so dynamic and unique that you never knew what to watch because everything that was going on was so beautiful.…

In all overall, the company was great and the performance even though it could have done even better with improvements in terms of timing, spacing and choreography, it was surprising. It painted the story of Snow White as it is featuring talented and experienced dancers in the country and it kept the audience alert. Amusing show to watch and I hope the rest of the premieres were as exciting as this…

So a good tap dance should make us feel happy. First of all, the music they chose are all very joyful. Especially the musical “Celebrate”. All performers dressed like a real circus troupe like red or green court dress with really dramatic decorative pattern. The scene looked like there is something really great happen in a castle, so the king asked some people play a show for that.…

The dancers showed a positive emotion as they held one another, later on showing another side (negative0 when they went separate. The performance ended with the female dancer holding both the male dancer’s hand, him around her hip as the pair moved slowly along the song’s momentum. Emotions on the “couples” faces were priceless as they held each other hand and walked on the right side of the dancefloor. The last dance piece is branded “That is what people do. Opening night, the dancers that performed in the University Dance Theatre production, had talent, agility, and graceful movements. The concert had a variety of dance genres, visual appeal, and emotions that each piece and the show overall represented. Humor, drama, and serenity were not emotions I thought I would receive while watching these dances. One thing I did not realize would make many of the pieces was how crucial and reliant lighting and graphics were necessary to make the piece more visually interesting. However, I was excepting similar dances and movements; even if, some pieces had comparable choreography and emotional appeal the diversity stood out.…
