Many people will take sides about what they believe to be true, but I find the complexity of the subject matter and the common middle ground of the two to be fascinating. It is also why I believe the intrigue and love of dance has been held onto for so many years. A dancer is to be athletic. They are pushing their bodies to their limits and are continually going on the never-ending road to gain “perfection”. Yet, it is not just athleticism that defines the dancer. They also need to acquire skill in the ability to convey a story, emotion, or state of being, so that their audience can feel that connection to the performance. It is this is where the work of an artist becomes important. Great technique or athleticism is not enough to make a great dancer, but it is the balance found between this and artistry that creates the important holistic point of view within
