Countering endless opportunity with our dreams is always possible with enough self-determination, talent, love and passion but because of circumstances, some of us are afraid to take a risk and give up without even getting started. That’s not the case with Tara Webster (Xenia Goodwin). With the hope of getting back where she was, decisions and taking risks were made.
In the audition for getting a contract in the National Ballet Company, an accident occurred where Tara broke her back because of marble that is placed on the stage while she was performing her piece. The catastrophe caused her life as a ballet artist to tumble down. While working at the Sydney Opera House as a waitress, Tara chose to give dancing a shot once more because of the power of words of Madeline Moncur (Miranda Otto) but unfortunately she didn’t make it. That kind of mindset destroys the true meaning of passion. Furthermore, in terms of their character, Tara (Xenia Goodwin) craves for attention and doesn’t consider situations where she’s in. I think the artist itself doesn’t really bring out the true meaning of their roles as a ballet dancer and performer, maybe because she doesn’t experienced failure yet unlike her role on the movie, so she doesn’t have an impact on audience like me. Kat (Alicia Banit) role, for me is the most realistic. Since we’re in the 21st century and children, grown-ups and particularly youngsters utilize social media on an ordinary premise. She depicted the reason for her part so well since I feel the chills of how great she is while acting and portraying her character.
