Damien Memorial School was built in mid 1800’s. In those days this school was known as an only guys school. As Damien was known for an only guys school there were other school to like Saint Louis, an only guys school too, and Saint Francis was known as an only girls school. When the schools students back then wanted a relationship they would ask the girls from Saint Francis. When you look at the school it looks like a tiny elementary school because the amount of buildings we have. But besides being a small school in the city of Kalihi we are known as a Catholic School. In 2013 Damien became Co-ed, everyone was surprised because it has been a long time until now to have girls come to the school. Since their are girls at Damien now it makes things
