In Dallas Buyers Club, the audience follows the roads taken by two men: one homosexual and one heterosexual. These men are differ in every aspect but are united in the fact that they have a disease that, during this time, was equivalent to receiving a death certificate. For purposes of conciseness we will focus on the hetero male, Roy Woodruff. Roy, is a hard living hard partying electrician/ rodeo cowboy who receives the news that he has contracted the deadly disease. He is shunned by his friends and co-workers and stigmatized immediately. He is treated at the hospital by Dr. Eve Saks who lets informs him that they (the hospital) are testing out medication called AZT (zidovudine) which theoretically is supposed to prolong the life of those
