Daisy Miller Assignment #2
Part 1 Daisy Miller is the main character of the book Daisy Miller. The main event that occurs would be when Daisy and Winterbourne are going on a trip to a castle and what happens on that day. This would be the main event of the first part of the book because right when Daisy and Winterbourne met they just clicked. The way they looked at each other and the way they talked to each other really showed the enthusiasm in both of these characters. They have a feeling for one another.
This is significant to the plot because Daisy and Winterbourne are meant to be together. The two get into a little bit of a fight when Winterbourne states that he is going to Geneva the next day, but

It is winter and Winterbourne comes back from Geneva and goes straight to Rome. When he goes to Rome he discovers that Daisy might be interested into another man. Mrs.Costello tells him that she is meeting rich Italian men with mustaches. Winterbourne is not too happy with what he had just heard.
Daisy most likely did not want to wait so long for his love to come back so she found a new one. Mrs. Walker had told this to Winterbourne "Everything that is not done here. Flirting with any man she could pick up; sitting in corners with mysterious Italians; dancing all the evening with the same partners; receiving visits at eleven o'clock at night. Her mother goes away when visitors come" (James 35). Mrs. Walker is trying to tell Winterbourne how much Daisy has changed since the last time they were together. Daisy is just into those Italians with the mustaches.
The quote is very important the the book because it changes how Winterbourne thinks about Daisy. He was in love with her and loved to be by her. He kept his promise with not meeting other girls in Geneva while Daisy completely broke it and just went to find a guy named Mr. Giovanelli. It changes the story, that being Daisy with a different man other than

He tries to talk to her as much as possible. He does get jealous because he is not with Daisy. He tries to flirt with her to try to get her back and he thinks it is working, but it is not because she is not flirting with him. Winterbourne sadly does not know that. Daisy is just having a better time with Mr. Giovanelli.
Part 3
The ending of Daisy Miller can connect to the life of any high schooler or teenager, not the ending but the whole story of it. Winterbourne and Daisy had a connection with each other but Daisy did not believe they did so that is why she went after a different man. It was just a man chasing a girl that he could did not get. He went over to Europe to study, and mostly went after Daisy.
Instead of chasing the girl that left you, you should chase something what really matters to you. If it is the girl try to find someone who actually cares about you. People around the world would rather waste their time searching for a girl then trying to live in the real world. Just look what happens to Daisy. She was too busy with her man and decided that her health was less worth than her man. She dies of Malaria after being bit by mosquitoes at
