In Athens, he was a fairly respected individual, a famous architect, inventor, and craftsman. He was mentioned to have created useful things for the Greeks as mentioned before: the sail and axes. In Crete, he has some of the most interesting tales in Crete including the invention of the labyrinth to cage the Minotaur. With this note, the Minotaur is a half man, half bull mythical creature. The Minotaur has been mentioned in many heroes tales, including the hero of Athens, Theseus. Theseus comes to Crete to slay the Minotaur after the king of Minos, king Minos, demands children from Athens to be a meal for it. Unfortunately for the Minotaur, the princess of Minos fell in love with Theseus and asked Daedalus for help, which he helps by giving her a string that he could tie to the door of the labyrinth so he could find his way back after he killed it. In the end he succeeded and took the princess back with him, luckily he wasn’t caught by king Minos. In the end, king Minos was furious for the loss of his daughter and Daedalus took the blame and got viciously locked in the labyrinth with his son Icarus
