Sadly, only about one-third of teen mothers obtain a high school diploma. Teenage pregnancies typically have increased rates of alcohol abuse and substance abuse, lower educational level, and reduced earning potential in teen fathers. In the US, the yearly cost of teen pregnancies from lost tax revenues, public assistance, child health care, foster care and involvement with the criminal justice system is about $7 billion. The video explained to me how child support works and how much of the money gets taken out of the father’s/mother’s paycheck depending on how many kids they have to support. The video was mainly about the difficulties of teenage girls having babies in high school. The main difficulties the girls had was trying to have an education while raising a baby. The other main difficulty was to financially support the child. The girls explained how every decision you make has consequences and it is important to realize the consequences of having sex. They repeatedly said, “if you are mature enough to have sex, you should be old enough to take care of a
