Should a family take time out of their busy schedule to have a movie night? How would one pick a movie suitable for this occasion? Movie nights are a very successful way for a family to bond. Daddy 's Home and Trainwreck would be two of the ideal movies for an adult family to choose from. Before deciding on what movie to watch the actors, the type of humor and also the message should be taken into consideration. Actors are a very important factor in a movie selection. In this case, Daddy 's Home and Trainwreck have well-known actors. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlburg star in Daddy 's Home. These two actors are known for their wicked sense of humor and their crazy personalities. Although these two have been paired up before, this time was different. …show more content…
Jokes can be taken in many different ways. In Daddy 's Home the jokes are more suited to a more innocent humor. The jokes do not have such a vulgar and harsh concept like Trainwrek 's. Daddy 's Home could funny to various age groups. From young adults to older generations. For the most part it 's clean fun for the whole family to enjoy. As for Trainwreck, it 's a different story. Although I found the jokes quiet humors I also would be embarrassed to watch this movie with a younger sibling. With that being, while trying to decide on a movie for the family one should consider the audience. Many adults would enjoy Trainwreck. This movie uses some foul language and also some inappropriate scenes for younger viewers. I perfer to watch a movie such as Trainwreck with a friend rather than my family. Daddy 's Home uses humor that would be ideal for a true family movie …show more content…
Trainwreck has a inspiring message. The movie reveals that a woman who is truly happy being single is a great thing. Trainwreck uncovers that a woman does not have to have a man if she does not want one. Many people in today 's society think that women depend on a man for their happiness, that should not be the case. A single independent woman is a great thing, and Trainwreck truly does a great job of revealing that to the audience. I personally, love Trainwrecks message. The way that this movie empowers women is truly inspiring. I think that if young girls would watch more films such as this, they would realize that a man is not needed to make them happy. A woman should be happy in her own skin like Amy is. Amy is not afraid to stand up to a man and speak her mind. Daddy 's Home brings a message that is suitable for any type of family. The message is, there is a difference between being a father and being a dad. The film explains that anyone can be father. Being a Dad is a different story. This takes someone who is willing to think about a child before themselves. One who would do anything in their power to make that child feel special and to always be there when they are needed. This message is what our children need to be watching. Although some may have a biological father who act like a dad, that is not always the case. Many families have a Step Dad who

Since the time we were little, we became invested in childhood tales. We became connected to the characters and their stories. They teach us to be brave, kind, and adventurous. Little did we know, we were also being taught another lesson. Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and many others all have something in common; an absent mother.…

The movie I decided to choose is “Couples Retreat” (Billingsley, 2009). The couple I choose from the movie is Jason and Cynthia. The reason I chose them is due to the fact that they are the couple that wanted to go to the couples retreat, Eden (Billingsley, 2009). When the couple first started talking to the other couples about the retreat in the beginning of the movie, they discussed the whole reason as to why they wanted to go to this retreat and why they needed the other couples to participate (Billingsley, 2009). Jason and Cynthia had been thinking about getting a divorce (Billingsley, 2009).…

Some comedy films that I’ve seen, that are disorganized, became great classic comedy films. Maslin claims that, "Christmas Vacation makes no pretense at being anything other than a disjointed collection of running gags; if it weren 't for a calendar that marks the approach of Christmas Day," she overlooks that the hilarious unexpected scenes could make up for the film not having any structure. Christmas Vacation could cut out the calendar countdown and still have the same funny effect due to the great way the film uses humor in the unexpected scenes, slapstick comedy, and characters to connect to each other in an unorthodox way. In LeDonne 's article, Lewis states, "It highlights the idiosyncrasies between family members,” in a scene Beverly is talking to Clark in bed and voices her concerns about her mother making fun of Clark’s mother buying cheap hot dogs. She also says that Clark’s mother accuses Beverly’s mom of waxing her upper lip, becomes a true rendition of the bizarre traits between the family members that the audience witness in Christmas Vacation.…

In the movie Home Alone and the story, Ransom of Red Chief I feel like the theme for both of them is that no matter how small and innocent someone seems they could be a serious pain. In the story the author wrote] “The kid was a freckled face boy of ten with freckles that stood out.” (O’Henry 63) This shows that the two criminals thought this was just a little kid with freckles but later on they will realize how much trouble this kid will cause. In one of the scenes of the movie Home Alone the two thieves said it’s just a little boy…

In the movie Parenthood it shows life in a different picture, in a true reality to real life. It doesn’t show the perfect happy family, but what it does show is life, whether it is hectic, and wanting your kids to be the best they can. At Gil’s house in almost every scene it’s hectic. There are lost of people, kids everywhere running around, getting into and bumping into things.…

Influence of Parents There are many themes in the film “Parenthood”, however, one in particular stands above all the others: no matter who you are or where you come from, your family has an enormous impact on you and your future, for better or worse. The Buckman’s portray this perfectly throughout the movie. Frank Buckman was a horrible father to Gil, Susan, Helen, and Larry. This, evidently, had a negative impact on all of them.…

‘The Road’ by Cormac McCarthy and ‘Children of Men’ by Alfanso Cuaron are two texts which are set in an apocalyptic scenario with a prominent threat to the overall existence of the human race. In ‘Children of Men’ the threat of global infertility impends towards the extermination of humans whilst in ‘The Road’ the lack of resources and widespread cannibalism leaves everyone’s life at risk. Breaking the trend of infertility, “Children of Men’ tells of story of a ‘saviour child’ which becomes the first baby born in 18 years whilst ‘The Road’ follows the story of a man with his ‘son’ depicted as the one who will continue the civilisation. In both texts, the overall reaction to social breakdown and impending extinction is carried out in similar…
