Special Operation Forces operators often times than not find themselves in parts of the world where their unique regional, cultural, and language capability are crucial in expediting and levering relationships with partner nation forces. The speed in which SOF operators could develop critical PN relationships to meet operational requirements deeply relies on their effective language communicational skills, but are current language tests properly evaluating effective language skills? LREC Language Policy states that Military Intelligence personnel assigned to 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne) (Proponent) will continue to fulfill linguistic and cultural requirements, but how are these requirements produced and set as standard. John Donnelly, he explained the future of language incentives and language tools used to evaluate language capability, he explained that the likelihood of the using two modalities as a sure measure of language capability would derive from SOF operators testing in both DLPT-L/R and OPI-S. While DLPT-L/R tests results currently provide pay incentives, OPI-S will be introduced in order to determine speaking ability of the operator. SOF operators will in essence take a total of three test (DLPT-L/R and OPI-S) to determine complete linguistic capability. Currently, 7th Special Forces Group (SFG) (Airborne) (A) offers SOF operator the ability to take the OPI-S only after achieving a total score of 3/3 in the DLPT-L/R, and it has to be taken within 30 days of the DLPT test date. This would offer a unique opportunity to the SOF operator allowing him to always attain a minimal score of 3/3 by only taking the OPI regardless of score. This incentive has encourage SOF operators to practice and learn both reading and listening in their target language, achieving a higher score in the DLPT-L/R and enhancing the overall linguistic capability of the
