Perhaps the greatest shock to me when joining the DEL cohort 11 was the military presence, former and current. I was looking forward to substantial exposure to alternate views from obscuring industries that would assist in re-shaping my knowledge, skill and ability as an executive. My Air Force career took me all over the world and were invaluable but was a season. Entering in to a different season and changing industries and specialities I recognize the flaws and defieiences of the military experience, which have been measurable to my professional career. Specifically, the dependencies of protocol, procedures and requirements now appear to me as subordinate experiences to those in my current environment where they routinely are absent
