Case Study: Houston Dialysis Centre Question 1 Houston Dialysis Center is among the several departments of Houston General Hospital; which is a full service and nonprofit-making institution. This factor indicates that as much as some profits are realized from operations in other departments of the hospital, the hospital’s focus remains as a center for providing care to the patients. Since this is the facility’s focus, it was justifiable for the hospital’s chief finance officer to prioritize the plight of outpatients who needed more space at the hospital. Furthermore, dialysis patient’s plight was also taken care of through the plan to construct a dialysis center away from the outpatient’s premises. It was therefore unjustifiable for Linda to quit the hospital just because she was prone to lose her bonus by the end of the year.…
Specialty Menu for Chinese Patient With Renal Failure Diagnosis: Renal failure is the slow digression of the kidneys in the body system. The disease can either be acute, or become chronic, which is more common among the elderly. Judith Hopfer, April Hazard Vallerand, and Cynthia A. The first publication of consensus criteria for AKI was published in 2004 by the Acute Dialysis Quality Initiative Group (ADQI). The system was termed RIFLE (risk, injury, failure, loss of kidney function, end-stage renal failure). It categorizes AKI into three severity classes -Risk, Injury and Failure- and two outcome classes, Loss of kidney function and End-stage kidney disease. Later, in 2007, the Acute Kidney Injury Network (AKIN) published a modified definition of the RIFLE criteria, outlining AKI as abrupt (occurring within 48 hours) and using a smaller change in serum creatinine from baseline in patients to calculate the AKIN stages. Stage 1 of AKI was defined as an increase in S.Cr greater than or equal 0.3 mg/dl or greater than or…
Hi Professor Bowers, You presented an excellent point – that there may be some twist in the case scenario, e.g., the nurse operating remotely – away from the patient’s bedside. In cases like this, it would be well for the nurse to act on her initial assessment of the patient prior to the outage and relay on her own instincts and “reached into her knowledge base of previous learning and experience” (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2015, p. 6). In addition, as cited by Stokowski (2008) The call center is not the place for novice or inexperienced nurses.…

The role that due process plays in the management of conflict especially for discipline and conflict are “to balance rights and responsibility and, to ensure fairness or justice within the organization regarding dismissal procedures” (p. 212). In other words, due process plays a vital role in the management of discipline and termination via making sure all people, especially public employees’ rights are protected under the law as well as creating a balance of the law. The United States Constitutions guarantees all people to the right to a fair trial under the sixth amendment. By the end of the first day I was able to see what the caregiver would due if a patient had muscle cramps, was short of breath and had chest pain. The first day I mostly interacted with the staff and was able to see medical side of the whole procedure such as learning and seeing how to dispose of contaminated equipment and what machines were used.…
