According to DARE International, the only cost of the program are the students DARE workbook or planner, which is a $1.29 per child. Materials needed for both instructors and students are provided by DARE America in the first year of the program. The program also requires a joint signed agreement between the host Chief or Sheriff of the Law Enforcement agency that is introducing the program.
DARE program courses are generally taught by a certified police officer or former police officer that has received a standard amount of training in order to educate children on DARE. There is also a cost at training our fellow officers, depending on the site and location, it can vary from being absolutely free to about $700.00. Local police agencies such
