Overlord (d-days nickname) was the largest air, land, and sea operation undertaken before or since june 6, 1944. And D-day was also called the overlord mission. D-day was a very tragic battle that helped the allied forces in world war 2. One of the causes were the allies made the nazis think that they weren’t going to attack normandy but they were going to attack pas-de-calais. Two effects are: the allies were able to liberate france. There were allot of people who helped win the battle at normandy.
