Treatment

Sometimes patients with Cytomegalovirus do not need treatment if symptoms do not occur. If you feel symptoms like pain, fever, throat pain and pain in the stomach area then pharmacy medications like paracetamol or ibuprofen can help with your symptoms, if you are under sixteen years of age you should take Aspirin. Cytomegalovirus can also be passed on from a mother to her child. Babies can be infected at birth or before or after, there are antiviral medications available to treat babies with (CMV).

Cytomegalovirus is a virus that affects a healthy person's body almost like the flu.

It can be spread through sexual intercource, breast milk, from urine, saliva, faeces, oragans that have been transplanted
