Dear Michael T. Bardin scholarship foundation, I am writing to express my upmost gratitude in receiving the Michael T. Bardin scholarship. I feel very lucky to receive such a meaningful scholarship and for being chosen out of more than 150 applicants. I went to read about Mr. Bardin online, but I was very sad to find out he had passed away in 2005. I am also very glad to hear how brave and how much an advocate of education he had been. To me, there could not be a scholarship better to receive than one made as a tribute to education and the life of Mr. Bardin.…

Dear Carolyn Boles Scholarship Committee, I have had a great first semester in college full of learning and meeting new people. I studied extremely hard the entire semester and was determined to get the best grades possible. My favorite class was psychology and I received a very good grade in the class, so I was asked to become a mentor for the class next school year. I also decided to work toward receiving a minor in health psychology because I loved the class so much. In another one of my classes, we learned about different health field careers in order to decide if nursing was right for us since it is such a competitive major at IUPUI.…

Any form of money that I can receive will be significantly beneficial. Being a recipient I would use this money to put towards my degree in Occupational Therapy, where I will be helping kids with disabilities learn the basic day to day living skills. After graduation, I will be attending East Central College to get my general courses out of the way, while taking classes that will help me in my future career.…

My first quarter of Clark Community College so far has been a great experience due to taking this course. At the end of high school, financial hardships at home forced me to take a serious look at how my undergraduate career was going to be paid for. I decided to accept a full scholarship to the College of DuPage where I worked hard, received strong grades, and earned a scholarship to Loyola University Chicago. I am incredibly grateful that my family was eventually able to assist me in paying for school, but without first attending community college and receiving a scholarship to Loyola, I would not be in this position today. I believe that my dedication and determination that were required in this journey are qualities that will be a great contribution to the learning community at Saint Louis University. I believe it is also important to address…
