People are afraid of pit-bulls because of their reputation as fighting dogs. The only thing that they see is the strong looking dog and its lockjaw. In fact pit-bulls have been great family dogs for a very long time.…

You may be scared of pitbulls or scared that they will attack you, but there are multiple facts that could go against your reasoning. Pitbulls should not be stereotyped as a vicious breed of dog. I say this because they actually used to be considered the nanny dog and because pitbulls themselves are not dangerous, they are, unfortunately, trained to fight and be violent the majority of the time. To begin with, pitbulls may be marked as dangerous in present day, but they used to be known as the nanny dog.…

Now say, your friend also has a dog, and one day you go downstairs to find the baby and the dog together. Now imagine this toddler playing with dog. The child is yanking on the dogs ears, maybe pulling its tail, possibly even maybe trying to sit on the dogs back.…

On the article “A Change of Heart about Animals”, Jeremy Rifkin argues that animals should be treated humanely because, according to science, the differences between animals and humans are less than what we think. He believes that animals should be given the rights that protect them from inhumane treatment and human consumption. He is telling us that we have to give them the same rights that a human possesses. In affirmation to Jeremy Rifkin, we should treat animals humanely because they also have a heart that can feel pain and a brain that can think.…

“86.8 percent of American Pit Bull Terriers have passed their temperament tests” (O’Connor). If this is legitimate, then why are so many people afraid of these affectionate animals? There have been, in some cities, bans put on pit bulls because of a high amount of reports of pit bulls biting people. This reason is not the dogs’ faults. Think about it; who trains these dogs and why are people being bitten?…

Many people have a common misconception about pit bulls. The stories in the news about pit bull fighting or someone being attacked by a pit bull, paints a one sided picture in the minds of those watching. The pit bulls are the main focus of the story, instead of the people that abused them or breed them for fighting. Pit bulls themselves are just like any other dog, when it comes to a pet companion. Though many people may argue that pit bulls are inherently dangerous, with a little research and understanding the truth about pit bulls is quite clear.…
