You may be wondering, “Why was this storm caused in the first place?” This storm was caused because different temperatures and moisture levels mixed in the air. This is called cyclonic precipitation. In this case a mass of warm moist air moves over a mass of cold dry air and this creates a front, which results in precipitation. If the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius then the rain will fall as snow. The storm affected areas of Canada differently. It all depends on the temperature in that area. Charlottetown received snowfall whereas Fredericton received freezing rain. This all has to do with the temperature. This storm affected many parts of Canada.
