Cyclists Lives Matter
One second of looking away or at the time was distracted caused a toddler to fall. One second of looking away or at the time was distracted shattered a biker to pieces. Consider bikers as babies and toddlers. In a similar fashion, a toddler roams around freely but the second of looking away, this toddler is injured. Bikers are very enthusiastic and eager and desire to share the roads with other vehicles. Remember the time your father or perhaps your mother taught you how to ride a bike. Do you remember that excitement? But, parents, on the other hand, were always anxious and wary from approaching vehicles. So, remove the distractions. A phone call can wait. A text is not worth a life and there is a time and place to appreciate your meals and drinks. Remove any activity that diverts attention from driving. Passengers also contribute to distractions. Conversations and skipping through radio channels can wait or perhaps this is where the front passenger becomes essential. The front passenger should be the one searching through radio channels or providing direction guidance. The sole duty of the driver is to exhibit the characteristics of a safe driver by being physically and mentally prepared to drive. Driving is not the time for socializing. Important to note is that driving is a necessity and a privilege. Can you operate without the use of a vehicle? No! Otherwise how would you be able to work, attend school, attend meetings, purchase groceries, visit family, take kids to daycare, school or afterschool activities, and run errands? A car is a convenient form of transportation allowing people to achieve tasks without the need of waiting on others. Does public transit sounds appealing to you? Remember the hassle of public transit. At some point in your life, you had to depend on public transportation and do remember the rainy, snowy and hot days of waiting at the station. So, do not replace comfort with inconvenience. Your privileges as a driver will be revoked, if deemed as an unfit
