As social media’s users are growing rapidly, more and more people can have the chance to cyberbully people they don’t like or are different from them. They also target different kinds of people. According to Sturgis (2014), ‘Cyberbullies often target gays, women or people of color. Students who are different in some way (race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or appearance) or high-profile students (athletes, student government officers) are often the most vulnerable.’ This type of bully is actually really hard to prevent. Smith et al (cited in The Dangers of Cyber bullying, 2014) states that ‘cyberbullying is reported as an aggressive, intentional act distributed by an individual or group, using contact in an electronic medium, continuously and relentlessly against someone who cannot stand up for himself or herself easily.’ Therefore, even though people are putting effort to wipe out cyber bullying, every internet users can still get a chance to be cyber bullied by their relatives as it is easy to be done. It is considered as a dangerous act to people as it can give great impacts to the victim’s psychology. The victim can have uncomfortable feelings to people and stay away from social life until the thought of doing suicide.
