Most American teenagers have a way to access the internet and interact with other teenagers. The websites they access such as Facebook or ask.fm can contain different types of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that can be done on almost any electronic device. Stories of a local child committing suicide because they were being bullied on the internet are all around the united states. Sometimes when certain individuals hear these stories, they choose to blame the website and not the bully. Jack Dickey wrote an article titled “The Antisocial Network Inside the Dangers Online World Kids Can’t Quit”. In the article he explains that the website, Ask.fm, contains cyberbullying and this is not the creators of this website fault, it is the bullies fault. Dickey explains this by telling the creators story about why they created the website, using a young boys suicide story as an example, and why it is not the creators fault.

In his article, Dickey said “People are always looking for someone to blame and Ask.fm was an easy target”. He goes on by saying that instead of punishing the bully, they are choosing to bully the creators for something they did not do. The brothers are not the ones who typed up the comments that were posted on Matthews wall and them send them knowing they would hurt the boy. The employees have millions of comments to review and sometimes they will not be able to go over every single post. A couple of years after the incident occurred the site upgraded its monitoring system with a cyberbully expert. Since they have done this, the brothers have confirmed they are able to keep more cyberbullying off of their website, unfortunately not all.
