Cyberbullying is wrong I believe cyberbullying should, in fact, be a criminal offense because I know a person that have harmed themselves(i would rather not use a name) because people would continuously make fun of him because of how he dressed and how he looked . Cyberbullying is a type of bullying that occurs on the internet, hence the name. Cyberbullying is often unpunished until the victim harms themselves or others, which is a problem from many reason. The internet is becoming more advanced and is being easier to access. With that, it is extremely easy to say whatever you want on the Internet. However, how far is too far? The power of the internet gives you the ability to say anything to pretty much anyone behind the safety of a computer screen. In several states had a poll on people and around 73% of the respondents said they believe cyberbullying should be a criminal offense. (Parks 74) After laws were put in place in areas, the bullying victims rose because victims would often tell, then the bullies would institute the rule “Snitches get stitches” (source 6). Also, the after the laws were made, the teacher's intervention decreased so less bullies were punished. (source 6) This goes to show you that the laws on bullying need to be reformed and also need to be more
