Cyberbullying Is A Type Of Bullying Essay

Cyberbullying is a type of bullying that uses technology such as cell phones, tablets, and laptops. These devices are used to get on social media such as facebook, twitter, instagram and so on, these websites are where bullying is mainly taken place at. But what goes through people 's minds to make them think that it 's okay to bully people on social media or even at all? Bullying is no longer just in school, it is now taken to a whole new level and is on social media. People tend to post negative and rude stuff on the internet, as an example, the other day I was on twitter and this girl was having a bad day and posted about it. She had tweeted something along the lines of “nothing is going the way I had planned, i just wish I could fix it.” This guy tweeted underneath back to her, that no one cares and that she is ugly and needs to shut up. This tweet made this girl very self conscious and very emotionally unstable. Even though the tweet directed to her wasn’t to harsh, you never know how people are going to take what you say, so you should think before saying or posting. The bullying rate that is not face to face is at about 70 percent as of right now, because people like to find the easiest way possible to bully someone without having to face them in person. The guy who wrote the Social Media Detox Call says, “This way is a cop-out and you can hide behind your mouse pad and your keyboard.” Which is a true statement, this is a very big problem especially in teens…
