In the school year 2015-2016, there was a total of 804 reported cyberbullying incidents (Algar, Cyberbullying in City Schools). This number is higher than the prior year by 118 additional reported incidents. These statistics show an increase in the amount of bullying/cyberbullying that children experience on a day-to-day basis. These numbers should show us that we need to open our eyes and pay more attention to the painful reality that is happening in and out of the children’s’ schools. Cyberbullying is harmful to individuals of all ages due to the pain and the humiliation that it causes. The victim can also be mentally drained by such destructive actions.
