Essay On Cyberbully

The movie I used for my project was Cyberbully by Charles Biname. I picked this movie because I saw that it has a lot of the same things that are going on in high schools as today. Society norms was one of the things that we talked about that I saw in this movie. In the movie, most of the teenagers are connected and on their phones all the time. I feel like that is very more common today because of all the technology we have compared to other decades. It is now normal in society to be caught up in knowing and being on internet/ technology. In the movie, it was also “normal” to be friends with the popular girls or to be known as cool. I feel like in a lot of high schools it is normal to either try to be popular or with the popular group. Finally in this movie there is a lot of online bullying/ name calling. Women. In the movie men see it to be okay for women to be a slut or a whore but women see it as a bad thing. I really don't think women should be sluts at all but I feel like it is unfair for men to provoke it and be okay with it but then girls are allowed to judge other girls. I feel like everyone should be their own person and shouldn't get lead on or judged. Also, in the movie I noticed that it showed the men being involved with “manly” things like sports but then it showed girls trying to flirt with them and trying to be pretty. I feel like this is a very untrue way of things today. A lot of women are doing sports and things now instead of trying to impress the men. I feel like this is a very sexist statement. Finally, in the film I noticed that when it came to sex, everyone usually always believes what the male says instead of the female. It has seemed to always be that way.
