About 5% of teens worldwide have said that they have been cyber bullying by someone and it has harmed them, but do not let that get to them to the point where committing suicide is what others think. Cyber harassment also makes enough harm to where the individual does not want to attend school anymore and feels like they are left alone when seen by many people that know what is happening and are helping the bully. Cyber harassment is not just one main way to harass a person online, in other words, cyber harassment has five different types of harassment within it. Each common type leads to the same amount of harm done to the person whom it is being directed to.

There is no one place in the world that cyberbullying is more prevalent than another. The consequences of cyberbullying is not just online- it can lead to much more tragic repercussions like the victim committing suicide. This is the case of Phoebe Prince, a fifteen year old freshman in Massachusetts. According to a Youtube page created in her honor, Prince was an Irish immigrant that transferred to a high school in South Hadley, Massachusetts. In an interview with a local CBS news station, an anonymous close friend of Prince`s states she never showed her pain as online bullies would call her names like “Irish slut” and a “whore.” In Prince`s case, the bullying began in the classroom and then later found its way online. Phoebe Prince hanged herself because of cyberbullying. Five of the bullies pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and faced no jail time. In the online article “Amanda Todd” on an online child safety website called Puresight, Todd 's story begins when she met a man on a website called Younow. Todd “flashed her breasts” for the man along with 200 other viewers- Todd was in seventh grade. A year later, the man found Todd on Facebook and demanded she “put on a show.” When the 11 year old Canadian refused, the man threatened to post the screenshot of her breasts on to Facebook. This man knew everything from Todd`s address, school, and friends and family, which is not viewable on Younow. He released the photos and everybody at her school saw her bare chest. Dealing with bullies then became a part of Todd`s daily routine, in school and online. Todd became severely depressed and she developed anxiety. Todd began to abuse drugs and alcohol. After a year of constant harassment, Todd decided to change schools; however, the man exposed Amanda Todd to her new group of friends and the same thing happened- she was shamed and began to be bullied at her new school as well. She attempted suicide by drinking bleach, she then moved towns and schools- and once again the bullying continued there too. She attempted suicide a second time.
