CVS is a store and pharmacy combined together. They sell a variety of things from medicines to groceries. Some of the merchandise that they stock is healthcare items, food, beverages, toys, office supplies, baby supplies, toiletries, and makeup. I have a relative of mine who works there and they explained to me how they determine their cost of goods sold in CVS. In CVS they determine their cost of goods through a mixture of perpetual and periodic inventory system. There is a computer system that keeps track of the inventory in storage, but sometimes there can be a difference in the amount of inventory out in the store shelves.
