Two main health risks for the senior citizen population of Cuyahoga County include high blood pressure and high cholesterol. According to the Cuyahoga County Board of Health “38% of all Cuyahoga County adults have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, 46% of all Cuyahoga County males, 27% of all females, and 59% of those 65 years and older (2015).” This is over half of the population of senior citizens in the area and is a major health concern. High blood pressure can lead to a multitude of complications which include stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and various cardiovascular issues.
