We have all heard about the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Maybe some of us have even read it, but what does this story teach us? How does it affect us? You may think that this story doesn’t relate to you at all. Well, you may be wrong. At some point we’ve all had at least one problem shown in this tragedy. In Romeo and Juliet, it shows problems such as fights between families,love, deaths, arranged marriage, banishment, and more. First of all, one of the many lessons learned in Romeo and Juliet is that suicide is not the best option. You should not kill yourself for love. Many of us know the story of Romeo and Juliet by its tragic ending. We know that they commit suicide. When Juliet drinks the potion that will make her seem dead so she can’t marry Paris, everyone turns their wedding into Juliet’s funeral. Romeo didn’t know that she was not dead, and that she had drank the potion. In Act 1, Scenes 1 and 2, Romeo thought that his love, Juliet, was dead, and that caused him and Juliet’s family complete sadness. We see in Act 1 Scene 5 when Romeo and Juliet first meet. They meet and they suddenly both decide they’re in love with each other and kiss. We may think that they both went too fast. They didn’t even know each other! How could this be a lesson for us? We should not fall in love with someone we just met, especially if we don't even know their name. Quick decisions can lead to bad things. In Act 2 Scene 3, Romeo asks Friar Lawrence to marry them after meeting in less than 24 hours.
