I would rate this lesson plan as excellent because it really made the learning come alive and showed the students what the various units of measurement look like. This is useful because the process of measuring objects is utilized on a daily basis, and it is important to have a solid foundation as a younger student. I do think that the students would enjoy this lesson because it allows them to go outside and measure the football field using yardsticks and rulers and determining the difference in size between them. The teacher who goes by the name of teaching coach explained that the students would calculate how many rulers it would take to measure the entire football field (Teaching Coach, 2009). I do think this assessment is reasonable because it provides students with the application of what they learned by going outside and actually measuring the football field. As far as the materials, Teacher Coach stated that the students would use about one hundred yardsticks and rulers for this particular lesson (Teaching Coach, 2009). I do think that the rulers are easy to obtain because every student brings a ruler, but I know that the teacher coach mentioned that he had to email teachers at his school asking to borrow yardsticks because he needed one hundred of them (Teaching Coach, 2009). Although this is not difficult, it is time consuming. I do think that this lesson fits into the topic of measurement because it involves methods of measurement and deciphers the difference between them. I think that this lesson plan was very well done, and it applied the lesson of measurement and made it applicable to things outside of the
