This approach keeps students accountable of their actions and aware that the teacher will not let things slide in his classroom. This approach has been very positive for this teacher thus I would like to try and model it in my future classroom. I am however, aware that this might not work in all situations. So, I would have a backup just in case this back fired on me.
My back up would be very simple I would first try my typical method of calling the students out. If this did not work and made the issues worse, I would simply ask the student to come with me to the office. (AKA class clown syndrome) The student academically achieves at an average level unless it’s a subject he is interested. However, because he is uncomfortable with who he is he does talk a lot and test the teacher daily. For example, on November 27, 2017 he made fun of the teacher out loud because he was board and desired attention from his peers. The teacher went along with it initially and even laughed at the joke but quickly corrected the behavior. The teacher simply addressed the student and stated that it was not appropriate for him to behavior like that. The teacher did this in front of the class assuring that the student was accountable for his
